Oil prices held steady on Thursday, with Brent crude futures trading at $ 49.67 a barrel, while US crude oil futures dropped to $ 47.09 a barrel.
US Energy Information Administration data showed US crude inventories fell 4.7 million barrels over the week ending July 14.
