As per the initiative by Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy and Emirates Wildlife Society-WWF
- Emirates Wildlife Society-WWF to utilize the revenue of the endowment in environment programmes
- ADCB to get the Dubai Endowment sign in recognition to of its support
As per ‘The Year of Giving’ declared by the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the environment endowment initiative launched by The Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC) and the Emirates Wildlife Society in association with WWF (EWS-WWF), the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) has announced its participation by supporting environment programmes conducted by EWS-WWF. This initiative is follows the ‘Global Vision for Endowment’, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to revive the practice of endowment through innovative applications. according to a press release published by Dubai Government Media Office.
Accordingly, ADCB will be granted the Dubai Endowment Sign by MBRGCEC. This sign demonstrates the company’s contribution to the vision of the country and gives privilege for the private sector in procurement with Government of Dubai as per the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Dr Majdi Abd El Muhdi, Head of Corporate Communication at ADCB said: “ADCB is honoured to receive the Dubai Endowment sign in recognition of our efforts and support of environmental programmes in the UAE through our partnership with EWS-WWF. Through initiatives such as this, we are doing our humble part to help advance the environmental objectives set by the UAE Government, and we encourage other companies to do likewise.”
Other companies can communicate directly with EWS-WWF to present their efforts and be considered to attain the sign.
Laila Mostafa Abdullatif, Director General at EWS-WWF said: “we are happy that ADCB has adopted the environment endowment, this indicates their vision to serve the community. We will work through this endowment to support our environment initiatives. We hope that more companies will participate in the environment endowment to get the Dubai Endowment Ssign.”
Dr. Hamad Al Hammady, Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy stated: “The Innovative endowment, part of the Global Vision for Endowments, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has opened a wide door to the development of communities. Thus, we are keen to search for social needs that can be supported by endowment. We hope that the environment endowment will attract lots of companies willing to support environment programmes and research. We hope that the environment endowment presented by ADCB will be a model for other banks and companies to consider innovative endowment.”
