Emirati nationals are invited to 1,200 lucrative jobs with 20 government and private entities taking part in the 9th edition of Ras Al Khaimah Exhibition for Education, Training and Employment, As reported by The Khaleej Times.
Up to 800 vacancies of these are available with the military sector and new Abu Dhabi airport against 400 job opportunities with an array of government departments and banking sector here.
Abdul Nasser Al Thahab, Head of Exhibitions and Conferences at the RAK Exhibition Centre, said most of the job offers available are in simultaneous translation, banking and administration.
Official records show that this year’s edition of the exhibition saw a drop of 33 per cent in terms of the number of participating government and private entities which witnessed 30 participants last year as compared to 20 this year.
“The drop is mainly blamed on financial issues these entities are facing,” Al Thahab explained. “However, daily workshops are being organised for the students and visitors to enlighten them how to start a small and medium enterprise.”
Sultan Khalifa Al Ali, head of Emiratisation at the RAK bank, said they were so keen to take part of the exhibition every year. “The bank recruited 92 Emiratis; 78 males and 14 females, in its branches across the country last year.
“We have strictly observed the strategy of the central bank in terms of Emiratisation,” he said. “The bank has further launched an initiative to help its staff obtain a B.Sc. degree in banking and financial studies.”
Sheikha Khalaf, an HR specialist with the RAK public prosecution, said they are offering 30 job opportunities to Emirati nationals in the fields of translation, interpretation, administration and public relations. “We have so far received 70 applications for the vacancies available.
Applicants need to have a secondary certificate or university degrees to apply for the jobs available with us, she added. “All the applications will be later sorted out to decide on the right applicants for interviews and recruitment.”
