Kuwait – (Masaader News)
Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced that its “Mobile Diabetes Clinic” health initiative recently visited the American School of Kuwait (ASK). The visit came as part of Zain’s strategic partnership with Dasman Diabetes Institute with the aim of raising awareness about diabetes.
Zain presented the Mobile Diabetes Clinic to Dasman Diabetes Institute early last year under the company’s Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility strategy towards the health sector. The initiative aims at increasing health awareness about diabetes amongst all age groups, especially that it is considered one of the most wide-spread diseases in Kuwait.
The Mobile Clinic visited ASK’s main building in Hawalli, where a number of Dasman Institute’s diabetes experts conducted free blood glucose tests for students from the elementary, middle, and high school levels. The clinic also answered the students’ questions and gave nutrition tips for a healthier lifestyle.
Zain’s Mobile Clinic aims at facilitating the necessary transportation of Dasman Diabetes Institute’s medical staff to provide free blood glucose testing throughout the country, serving schools, college campuses, malls, and other locations. The initiative mainly aims at promoting the concept of healthy living and preventing the beginning of diseases that are non-communicable, such as diabetes, as well as highlighting the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Zain’s contribution falls under the company’s Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility strategies and aims to raise awareness within the community and shows its keenness in having a productive role in social and health activities.
