During his participation in the World Governments Summit, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received Mark Xue, Vice President of Huawei Technologies, and Li Shi, CEO of Huawei UAE. The meeting was attended by HE Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Abdul Rahim Sultan, Director – World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO).
The meeting explored cooperation in Research and Development (R&D), Artificial Intelligence (AI), information security, and block chain technology. DEWA builds long-term partnerships with leading international to reinforce Dubai’s competitiveness, enhance its global position, and achieve the objectives of the Smart Dubai initiative to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world.
The two sides also explored cooperation on a number of areas, including the development of smart grid infrastructure such as smart meters for electricity and water; demand side management; self-healing grid; telecommunications infrastructure; fibre optic backbone; big data management; architecture; analytics; interactive visualisation; and information security. This will enable DEWA to provide quality new smart services based on the latest technologies to enhance DEWA’s position as a leading utility and develop smart initiatives that achieve happiness of its customers.
