The daughter of prominent thinker Chandra Muzaffar will be charged with the murder of her husband Nazrin Hassan today, after almost nine months of investigation into his mysterious death last June.
Police said Samirah Muzaffar would be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, together with her two sons, aged 15 and 17, and another individual who is still free.
Nazrin, 48, who headed Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd, a company financed by the government to help tech start-ups, was found dead in the bedroom of his house on June 14 last year.
His case, originally classified as sudden death, was re-designated as murder after a forensic report from the fire department said traces of gasoline were found at the scene.
Samirah and her sons were previously remanded as part of the investigation but subsequently released.
