The Chinese Business Council in UAE, in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent, have originated a Ramadan Iftar for around 2,000 workers in the UAE Red Crescent tent in Rashidiya area, with the support of Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, and around 14 Chinese companies in UAE.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shohi, Director of “Keeping the Grace” (Hefez El-Ne’ma) Project in the UAE Red Crescent Authority, assured on his happiness for this initiative and presenting support for this joint humanitarian step through the “Keep the Grace” project of the UAE Red Crescent, which was launched in 2004 ,to provide meals to workers throughout the UAE, in order to achieve the principle of social solidarity among the members of society, and he said: “”Our continuous efforts in extending our white hands come in support of several joint humanitarian initiatives, which are represented today in a different Chinese governmental and commercial bodies, as a result of the efforts of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, rest his soul in peace, who established Bilateral relations between the UAE and the People’s Republic of China, which still have their distinction and growth because of the keenness and support of the good leadership. ” He also added:”Such cooperation is an essential part of the UAE’s inveterate values and is essential to furthering our mission and achieving our humanitarian mission by providing equal opportunities for all categories.
“The UAE Red Crescent pays attention to all categories and communities within and outside the UAE”, said Mohammed Abdullah Al Zarooni, Director of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, Dubai branch. He assured that:” According to the directives of My Master His Highness My Master Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, The UAE Red Crescent’s branches Focus their attention on the local affairs and works to provide more humanitarian assistance to weak categories and needy groups registered with all branches of the Red Crescent in the country”.
Mohammed Al-Zarouni pointed out that the Red Crescent branches throughout the country are working on weave community partnerships with all sectors of society and its various institutions, especially those that provide services to a wide sector of weak categories, especially in the fields of education, health and participation of community members in community activities and events.

From his side, Mr. Wang Zhenshan, Acting Consul General of the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, said: “As a blessed community in Dubai , Based on our belief in the responsibility of the community and the importance of supporting all categories of society and promote the approach of merger with all categories of different groups and beliefs , the Chinese expats and business groups are keen to support the organization of this Ramadan breakfast, which contributes to spread the culture of giving, tolerance, harmony and spreading the atmosphere of goodness and solidarity.. DNA of Philanthropy is deeply rooted in the Chinese 5000+ years culture. Giving and helping form an important part of people-to-people connectivity the Belt and Road initiative has given particular emphasis. What our President Xi Jinping has been calling for, to build a community with shared future for mankind, has brought this universal value to its full blossom.
The Chinese humanitarian initiative also came in the year of Zayed. The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan has been advocating and supporting the values of humanity and tenderness throughout his life. Now the torch was passed down to us.
HH. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said “Consolidating the culture of giving in the UAE is a shared responsibility”. His Highness attached a great importance to social, charitable works, and instilled sense of obligation on generosity through many initiatives domestically and internationally making UAE one of most generous country in the world.
We would like to thank the UAE Red Crescent for its unlimited support in executing the initiative, which was thankfully welcomed by 14 of the largest Chinese companies Which is based in Dubai where they take it as a regional hub for their business. “Through this initiative, we wanted to give back even a little to a country that has given us so much to thrive Chinese businesses and expand into regional markets’. The UAE has provided Chinese businesses with an encouraging and stimulating business environment as well as the security and safety of everyone living on this good land”.
Cooperation between the two countries
The Emirati-Chinese initiative comes to assures the ties of cooperation between the two countries within a framework that transcends the borders of the trade relations and business between the United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China to focus on the humanitarian aspect of spreading values of synergy, tolerance, love and peace, inspired by the holy month ,Which meets with the spirit of ” Zayed’s year”, It also reflects the efforts of the Chinese Consulate and the Chinese Business Council to spearhead efforts to promote a culture of community responsibilityto the foreign companies Which is headquartered in the United Arab Emirates and is a hub for expanding business in the region.
The China Business Council, which promotes trade between China and the United Arab Emirates, was represented by 14 of the largest Chinese companies in the Chinese Business Council, which operates under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the most prominent of these companies are: “Bank of China”, “National Petroleum Corporation of China”, Chinese airline like “China Eastern Airline”, “China Airline” , “China Southern Airlines”, in addition to: “China National Building Materials Group”, “Power China”, “China Railway Group “,”China State Construction Engineering Corporation- Middle East”,” ZPMC Middle East”, “China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation“
, “China Council for the Promotion of International Trade” and “China Harbour Engineering Co Ltd “and” COSCO Shipping West Asia”.
Companies’ officials supervised on presenting 2000 Ramadan meals. More than 120 volunteers representing Chinese companies, who had taken part in the initiative along with volunteers from the UAE Red Crescent, have been working to provide breakfast to workers.
A human step
Captain Wang Song, chairman of the Chinese Business Council in Dubai, and head of Cosco Shipping in West Asia, said:”This initiative is a coherent humanitarian and charitable step aimed at encouraging our partners to engage in a single spirit in support of the local communities in which we are”. The remarkable humanitarian initiative initiated by us and supported by 14 Chinese companies, the most prominent members of the Chinese Business Council, is a catalyst for promoting a culture of corporate social responsibility and promoting a culture of giving. We would like to thank the UAE Red Crescent Authority for its support of the Chinese initiative, and also to thank all the Chinese companies that responded to this wonderful humanitarian initiative in the month of Ramadan, the month of tolerance and giving.

The UAE has more than 4,000 Chinese companies operating in various sectors, with around 270,000 Chinese people living in the country.
Which indicates the growing importance of the UAE as the largest commercial center in the region, especially with more than 75 flights a week between the two countries. Chinese companies also play an active role in airports, ports, roads, telecommunications, railway construction and regional connectivity in the UAE.
