Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), welcomed a high-level delegation from the German company Voith, which specialises in systems, products and services serving five important markets: energy, oil & gas, paper, raw materials and transport & automotive.
The delegation was headed by Dr Leopold Henninger, CEO and President of Voith Hydro, and included Ward Loeffen, Vice President – Middle East Division; Hubert Geissberger, Head of Sales; and Mansour Yahya, Sales Services Manager.
The visit aimed to enhance cooperation between the two parties in energy and water, as well as exchange best practices, experiences, and global practices.
Al Tayer welcomed the delegation, and stated that these meetings are part of DEWA’s commitment to share best international experiences and expertise with power and water companies. DEWA works to upgrade its services to advanced levels to become a global role model and meet the Emirate’s needs. DEWA has developed its model for electricity and water services according to the highest standards of availability, reliability and efficiency, as well as to achieve customer happiness.
Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s key developmental projects and strategic initiatives that support the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, to ensure that clean energy will generate 75% of Dubai’s total power output by 2050. Al Tayer noted that DEWA works tirelessly to build a robust infrastructure to enhance its total production capacity, which is currently 10,413MW of electricity and 470 million imperial gallons of desalinated water per day (MIGD) to meet Dubai’s current and future water demand.
Al Tayer was briefed on Voith’s services in the UAE. The delegation also expressed interest in participating in DEWA’s projects and initiatives.
