Dubai Police has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, to establish a smart police station within DSO. The station will start providing smart services excluding any human intervention during the year.
The agreement was signed by Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and Dr Mohammed Alzarooni, Vice Chairman and CEO of DSOA, in the presence of Major-General Al Sallal Saeed Bin Huwaidi Al Falasi, Director of the Dubai Police Department of Administrative Affairs, Khalid Alrazooqi, General Director of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police, and his Deputy Lieutenant Colonel, Hussein Bin Ghulaitha. While DSOA officials included Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Deputy CEO for Operations and Client Affairs, and Eng. Muammar Al Katheeri, Executive VP of Engineering and Smart City.
Both parties have agreed that the signing recognizes their alignment to the vision and strategic directives of the country’s wise leaders. Dubai Police and DSOA will work hand in hand to develop aspects of the project and have it running this year. DSOA will identify optimal locations for the smart police station that provide easy access to residents, employees, and visitors of DSO. Meanwhile, Dubai Police will handle all logistical and development aspects of the project, and provide the necessary technology and software to operate the station.
Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri commended the partnership with DSOA in establishing the first Smart Police Station, which will provide Dubai Police services to customers without the need for human interaction. He highlighted the pledge of the Dubai Police Force to always be readily available to assist the whole community.
He added that the new station, open 24 hours, seven days a week, will offer 27 traffic- and crime-related services, as well as a further 33 community-related services.
Major General emphasized Dubai Police Force’s commitment to achieve the vision of the wise leadership in building a happy society, and facilitating customer access to their services anytime, while the number of visitors of regular police stations is anticipated to decrease by 80 per cent. In addition, the Smart Police Station will be easily accessible for people of determination, further advancing Dubai’s journey to become the happiest and smartest city in the world.
For his part, Dr Alzarooni noted that the partnership will go a long way in strengthening the relations between the two parties and consolidating DSO’s position as Dubai’s leading free zone. He added that the agreement aligns with DSOA’s commitment to contributing to Smart Dubai and providing state-of-the-art smart government services to employees and residents of its communities. Dr. Alzarooni highlighted the vital importance of police services in safeguarding the security and happiness of the citizens. Furthermore, Dr Alzarooni praised the great efforts of Dubai Police in building productive synergies with entities across the emirate.
A smart police station is a fully integrated self-service police station without human intervention that allows community members to apply for Dubai Police services that are available at traditional police stations, such as opening a case, the issue of various certificates and permits, or lost-and-found enquiries where People who find lost items in a public area can go to the smart station and put the found item in a box and then deposit it inside the cubicle.
The facility leverages smart interactive technologies to enable customers to complete their transactions without the need to visit traditional police stations, resulting in significant time savings, and enhanced convenience.
