Schools in Saudi Arabia will start teaching Chinese language as part of a bilateral agreement aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries, Saudi Arabia‘s Ministry of Media said that.
The agreement on a joint preparation of a plan for making the Chinese language a part of Saudi Arabia‘s education system was reached during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman‘s visit to China this week as part of his Asia tour.
The move is aimed at “deepening the strategic cooperation” between the two countries “at all levels,” the ministry said on Twitter.
During an investment forum that took place during bin Salman’s visit to China, the sides signed 35 economic cooperation agreements, worth some $28 billion.
