Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, today announced the opening of City Centre Almaza to the public. City Centre Almaza is the fourth Majid Al Futtaim shopping mall in Egypt and promises to redefine retail, leisure, food and beverage experiences for the whole family.

City Centre Almaza is a shopping, food, and entertainment hub spanning over 100,000 square meters. The unique mall includes more than 260 stores and has dedicated nearly 10 per cent of its space to entertainment. In addition to hosting East Cairo’s first ever VOX Cinemas (16 screens), mall visitors can also enjoy Magic Planet, an indoor ride, games and attractions venue; Gravity Code, an indoor trampoline park; and Ignite sports center. These attractions are complemented by City Centre Almaza’s diverse food and beverage offering which can be found throughout the various indoor and outdoor spaces and a unique designed food court.
The mall also features a state-of-the-art Carrefour hypermarket of two football fields introducing – for the first time in Egypt – new innovations that enhance the customer experience, as well as exclusive amenities and services including free WiFi, valet service and lounge, and over 4,000 parking spaces.
Sustainability is an important pillar of Majid Al Futtaim and City Centre Almaza’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification is testament to the company’s commitment to achieving environmentally conscious practices. During the mall’s construction, the property achieved 18% reduction in energy use and a corresponding 40% reduction in water use.
As with previous projects in Egypt, Majid Al Futtaim has invested to improve the infrastructure around the malls to ensure safe and convenient access. Majid Al Futtaim invested more than EGP 500 million in traffic and investment solutions including the upgrade of Suez Road and the construction of a new pedestrian bridge over Thawra Street, allowing visitors to safely access the shopping destination.
City Centre Almaza is the latest addition to Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls portfolio now totaling four properties in Egypt, including Mall of Egypt, City Centre Maadi and City Centre Alexandria.
