In the light of the severing of diplomatic relations with the State of Qatar and the implementation of any decisions issued by Egypt regarding the suspension of dealing with Qatar, Suez Canal Authority Chairman and Head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, Lieutenant General Mahab Mmeish said in a statement on Friday. Its ports are committed to implementing decisions to prevent Qatari ships from entering these ports, in the interest of Egypt’s national security.
Mmeish added that any decisions issued by the Egyptian state on this matter apply to all ports belonging to the economic zone, but not to the Suez Canal.
