Brazil exported 1.09 million coffee bags to the Arab world from January to October 2017 generating USD 179.5 million in revenues, according to the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé). 1.09 million 60 kg-bags of the product were shipped to the region’s countries. Coffee exports to the Arab countries increased 9 per cent in volume during this period, compared to the same period last year. In total, Brazil exported 24.7 million coffee bags in the first ten months of 2017, generating USD 4.2 billion.
Dr. Michel Alaby, Secretary General and CEO of ABCC said: “The latest figures released by Cecafé indicates the increasing popularity of Brazilian coffee in the Arab region. Such results highlight the success brought in by the shared commitment by both parties to foster trade relations between Brazil and the Middle East.”
Cecafé aims to represent and promote the development of Brazil’s coffee exports industry within a national and international context, through strategic and legal actions, market intelligence, and by carrying out social responsibility projects that strengthen the sustainable image of Brazilian coffee.
