His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed on the depth and strength of the economic, trade and investment relations between the UAE and the Republic of Romania; noting that the development of the investment climate in the two countries paves the way for increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two sides in the upcoming period.
This came during His Excellency’s reception of H. E. Dr. Adrian MĂCELARU, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the United Arab Emirates, at the Chamber’s head office recently.
During the meeting, they discussed methods to strengthen the economic and trade relations between the Emirate of Sharjah and Romania in various fields, and to introduce the investment climate in terms of the laws regulating the economic activities, and the facilities and incentives provided by these laws for investors and how to utilize them on both sides.
Al Owais stressed on the strength of the Emirati-Romanian relations and the need to invest these relations in the development and strengthening of economic relations between the two countries; calling to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in the two friendly countries; which reflect their common desire to improve the economic and investment cooperation relations to their best levels, contributing to raising the level of trade exchange between the two countries; especially that the Emirate of Sharjah has multiple competitive investment opportunities and benefits, and facilities for foreign investment; in addition to the availability of advanced infrastructure and other lucrative incentives.
Al Owais affirmed that the Chamber is keen on achieving all that would develop and activate the joint trade relations between Sharjah and Romania in a manner that serves the development and strengthening of partnerships between the business sectors of the two countries. He also noted the possibility for the Romanian companies to benefit from the attractive investment environment in the Emirate of Sharjah to expand in the Middle East and Asia region; in addition to the flexible business environment in which all commercial services are available at competitive and high quality specifications.
For his part, the Romanian Ambassador reviewed the advantages of the investment environment in Romania; noting that the most important branches of the Romanian economy are the power generation, the mining industry, the machine-building industry, the chemical and petrochemical industry, and the construction, agriculture and food industries sectors; calling on the UAE companies to increase their investments and strengthen their presence in Romania.
His Excellency H. E. Dr. Adrian MĂCELARU added that such visits would strengthen the relationship between the two countries, leading to more prosperity and progress through mutual benefit between the two sides; stressing that the Romanian Government is looking forward to deepening the mutual investment cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the investment opportunities in all sectors and how to cooperate in the establishment of investment projects to benefit from the available attributes and to encourage the private sector and businessmen in both countries to take advantage of the existing investment opportunities in both Sharjah and Romania.
